Mind Your Mother (earth) Month
March 22 – April 22
March 22 is World Water Day bringing our awareness to the necessity of clean water to all who live on this planet. See www.unwater.org/worldwaterday
April 22 is Earth Day, the day we celebrate with great appreciation our beautiful Mother Earth.
The Mother Earth gives us EVERTHING we require and in turn it is necessary to return her gifts with our gratitude and respect.
It is time we Mind Our Mother—be mind-full of the good we receive and be mind-full of our responsibilities as part of the whole to continue the cycle and give back.
Native cultures all over the world understand the need for giving back to the Mother Earth; it is normal, natural and necessary.
Responsibility means the ability to respond.
We are able to respond because we live in the most abundant country in the world, despite our struggles. We are able to be aware of the world around us and respond in gratitude for all we have.
Teachers and parents pick an aspect of water, trees, recycling or any earth related venture and take the opportunity this month to bring mind-full-ness to your children. Start your own class project showing the connection between water, the earth and us. Teach your students the need to Mind Your Mother!
We at Ward School have a program to help to REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE and to help bring balance back to the earth.
